Does exactly what it claims really well & simply. Nice drag-and drop feature. Nicely integrated in the cloud so it allows sync between multiple devices. Yay, automatically syncs now!

Ive used quite a few outliners over the last 3 decades on dozens of systems, and although there have been better ones on systems that no longer exist (ie Amiga, DOS, etc), this is currently my favourite. Simple, easy to use, does what I expect it to, and above all, no extra fluff or feature bloat. Also has a good number of export/import options. If you need something to organize and outline your thoughts, this is the way to go!

Below is my review from a few versions ago. Still true. I will add that more recently I deleted an outline by accident and emailed the developer. They restored it to my account after 15 minutes. Amazing support for a small iPhone app. Old review: This is the kind of app that helps transform your iPhone from an enjoyable distraction into a credible productivity tool. Now that you can sync your outlines to Dropbox and edit them natively on your computer, there really is nothing competitive with this on the App Store. With the new release Outliner has made the short migration from my iPhone home screen to my dock. Its one of the most useful and flexible apps around. Great value for the price and highly recommended.

... you cant make clickable links. Seriously!?! That undermines much of the potential utility. I see now why you have to buy the app before you can so much as try the web version. They need to add links, and then Ill be happy to revise my review. As it is now, its not much use, despite otherwise being well thought out.

Ive tried many other productivity apps, keep on coming back to the one. Simply the best, most flexible tool on my iPhone and iPad, and with a seamless sync that put other apps to shame.

The app shuts down and doesnt save anything. This app does not do what it says it would do. Its not fair that we have to pay for these apps before we have a chance to see that they dont work. There must be a way for us to get our money back. This app does not deserve one star. I worked on it all day and I cant get it to save anything. I set up several outlines and none of them saved. The app unexpectedly shuts down and when you turned it back on the outline is gone along with all the work it took to create it. Do not waste your money on this app.

I enjoyed the intuitive simple nature of making lists with dependencies on my iPad that I bought it for my iPhone also. Now both are in sync everywhere I go.

Really really useful and easy to use to make long lists with lots of sub-items with checkboxes. Highly customisable too.

This app goes very good with my need. The design fits my taste, letter size and spacings quite moderate, and i like the interface. I think it is the best among the todo apps I have tried so far. One request : Please hide (or make hidable as an option) bullet markers (▼◆) when showing the checkboxes (◯□). Combination of marker+checkbox is somewhat redundant and takes up the writable space to lessen. Thank you!

Great app for lists, project todos, and brainstorming. It all syncs quickly to an online service, a great feature if your iPhone crashes. Task check boxes, hide completed, and show project status have been very useful so far. Edit, also the new icon is just great!

This is a great application, but it needs more work. For example: When you create a new outline, various options such as "show status" or "small font" come up with some default values. There should be a way of changing these defaults. If you prefer "small fonts" or "do not show status" in most of your outlines, you should not have to toggle that option every time you create a new outline. There should be a "Preferences" menu where you can set your own default choices for a new note.

I was looking for an app that worked on my iPhone, iPad, AND any computer. Most outline apps have dedicated software that runs only on your computer. I wanted one that ran on any browser. This app does just that. Its simple to use and doesnt bog you down with too many unnecessary functions. My only wish is for a variety of bullet choices. You only get two choices with this. But that limitation doesnt take away from the app at all.

I have missed a program I used to use on a PPC for years. Its finally been implemented for iOS, and its dreadful. I’ve been in mourning. Then I discovered CarbonFin Outliner. THIS is the program I’ve needed. Clean, straight-forward, does the job handily, and pretty sweetly intuitive. Well done. Worth a lot more than developer is asking.

I enjoy using this app. I use it to manage knowledge & learning. All I wish for is to see the web app improve. It has been a while since weve seen a change.

It is a fine outliner, and having the web interface is fantastic. Ive been using this since it first came out and the web interface since they added it. Ive tried others but always come back to the simplicity of CarbonFin Outliner. And its like fort knox, Ive have outlines that I created back in 2011 still available.

Ive been using this app for years. Its not super powerful but Ive got others for that. To be honest, the power of CarbonFin *is* its simplicity. Nine times out of ten if I need to make a list or actions or organize a simple project I reach for CarbonFin because it is FAST and EASY and DIRECT without layers of powerful options to cloud the interface. I love it. And the web access makes it accessible from anywhere. I hope the author sees this as I am one of those silent majority that is too busy doing stuff to bother with feedback. This app rocks. Its a homescreen app for me.

Ive been actively using this app for years. Its perfect for making and checking off items on chore/to-do lists, goal lists, shopping lists, etc. Lists are easily generated, easily modified, can be published and shared, and there is also a browser-based editor to view and access your backed up lists from a PC or other device. Carbonfin Outliner is not the best app for maintaining your schedule, generating and organizing notes, keeping a journal, and may be too simple for managing a complex project, but for keeping track of things you want to do, stuff you want to buy, etc., I find it perfect and use it pretty much daily.

Ive used this app for years and have tried several kanban board and mind mapping apps; anything to help me organize ideas. In the end, I keep coming back to this app. If I have a todo or a tobuy it ends up in this app. My one question to the developer recieved a swift response. Thanks for a great app!

Workhorse App This is a very stable, workhorse app. It is my go-to app for brainstorming and composing speeches, sermons, etc. For what it does, the price is very reasonable. Reliable syncing through either Carbon Finss site or Drop Box. OPML import and export work flawlessly allowing seamless conversion between the Outliner app and your desktop outliner (I use OminOutliner Pro on my iMac).
